A benefit for AIDS Services Foundation Orange County
Come to our second annual New Years Eve fund raiser to assist persons living with HIV.Join us in this fun evening filled with food, music, drink, and dance.
Founded by Dr. David Petreccia in 2008, Dance 4 the Cure is an annual New Years Eve bash that was created to raise money for AIDS Services Foundation (ASF) of Orange County. Dr Petreccia took on supporting ASF to actively express his appreciation for all that they have done for his patients, and patient’s families, over the years. Many were greatly impacted by the HIV epidemic over the last 25 years. For so long, ASF was in the background, providing support; from medications to financial support for food, or room and board. They were also available for any emotional needs, and went as far as driving people to their appointments.
With the economic downturn of 2008, funds ran low due to reduced donations; ASF of Orange County had to make cuts in their community support programs, and had to lay off employees. Dr Petreccia made it his personal mission to assist however he could. Now, Dr Petreccia, with his wife and family, are all working together, hand in hand, with ASF of Orange County so that all people are empowered to reinvent their lives in the face of any circumstance. All those supporting Dance 4 the Cure are deeply committed to people impacted by HIV so they can have access to medications as well as social support.
THE PROMISE for 2009 DANCE 4 The Cure is 200 people in attendance with $20,000 net profit.
